Our History
Mountain Docs Family Medicine, PA
Mountain Docs can trace its roots in Macon County, North Carolina, back to 1945. Dr. Joseph Kahn, a young Army surgeon, moved to Franklin at the end of WWII in 1945. He served the people of Macon County practicing traditional country medicine-from surgery to obstetrics to general practice.
Dr. Garland King, with his wife Janice, moved to Franklin straight out of residency and joined Dr. Kahn in 1983. Dr. Kahn retired in 1990 and Dr. King took over the practice. He carried the mantle until 2000 when he was joined by Dr. Sondra Wolf and Dr. Kit Helm fresh out of residency.
Dr. Wolf and Dr. Helm worked with Dr. King until he retired in Spring 2013.
