Dr. Kit Helm was born and raised in a sea of corn and soy beans in the pancake flat Ohio River Valley of Southern Indiana. He is a proud product of public eduction. After a circuitous undergraduate journey, he ultimately graduated from the University of Evansville with degrees in Psychology and Biology. He attended Indiana University School of Medicine where he met his life partner, Sondra Wolf (on the first day of school!). He did his residency at ETSU Bristol in Family Medicine. During his already over busy residency, he was selected as Chief Resident and also Chief of Chief Residents (resident administrator over all four ETSU Family Practice residencies). He and Sondra were fortunate enough to join Dr. Garland C. King, in his practice in Franklin in the summer of 2000. Dr. Helm is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He also helped develop and currently works as the Medical Director of Angel Medical Center's Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program.
His wonderful offspring include a daughter, Lorien, and a son, Wolf.
Dr. Helm has special interests in patient-physician communication, science teaching and popularizing, humanist ethics and philosophy.
He enjoys his family's adventures with camping, back-packing, whitewater kayaking and skiing.
Dr. Sondra Wolf graduated with honors from Indiana University School of Medicine. Her happiest achievements in school were marrying Dr. Kit Helm and learning how to whitewater kayak.
Shortly after moving to Franklin in 2000, she delivered her daughter, Lorien. She had a son named Wolf in 2002. She maintains her board certification from the American Board of Family Medicine.
Her special interests include women's health and adolescent medicine. She loves to bake and makes an exceptional peach pie.
